Book Review: The Hidden King by E.G. Radcliff

Title: The Hidden King

Author: E.G. Radcliff

Stars: I give it a 4 1/2 stars! :D

What is the book about?

Aed has had a difficult childhood. Growing up in the Maze has taught him many survival skills as well as given him a family. After Ninian's unfortunate passing, Aed makes the choice to move along with Ronan, his adopted son, in the search of the White City.

Did you connect with any character? How was the character development?

I didn't connect with any of the character, I feel if Ninian was still in the story he would've been my spirit animal. I did love Aed as a character, he was well written but it wasn't someone I saw myself in. The character development was amazing! I enjoyed watching Aed and Ronan grow during their adventure, it made reading the story so much more worth it.

What I liked most about the book.

I really liked the fact that it was and it wasn't a predictable book. There was so much that I didn't see coming, but then again, there was. It's like an internal tug-of-war that I enjoyed throughout this book.

What I liked least about the book.

I wasn't left in a cliff hanger. As the first book in the series I was expecting to be overwhelmed with what was to come in the second book but it was a good ending to a good book.

Inspiring Quotes

Though the darkness was awful, the difference between it and the light wasn't significant enough to matter at all (188).

Would I recommend this book?

I would!!! If you have an interest in fae and magical worlds, this is the book for you!
